Water snake problem
« on: Mon 4 May 21:10 2020 »
Hi
I have had a water snake 54lb thrust bow mount for a 5 or 6 years. Itís had little use. I used it yesterday for the first time in ages. Everything was working ok but it was way down in power/thrust. Battery was fully charged and connection was good.
Does anyone know what the problem might be?
Do you think having this serviced or repaired is worth it? Is biting the bullet and buying a new one (Iím intending on using it a lot more) a better option?
Thanks for your thoughts.
John

How old is the battery? I would try another known good battery.

Start with the battery,a charger indicating fully charged is not always a good indication of a healthy battery.
    Good luck

Volt meter is good way to check.

Most battery places can usually do free battery check for cranking capacity. Should tell if dropped a cell.

Other wise make sure connections are tight and clean and check the length of cable if been kinked

    Thanks for your comments.
Iím responding a little late because Iíve been unable to have the battery tested until now. Turns out that is my problem. You were right.
So now I need to source a quality agm battery at a fair price. Any suggestions on where I should look?
    Thanks
    John
