Straddie fishing the Pin
« on: Fri 17 Jan 11:57 2020 »
There have been some small chopper tailor 35-40cm hanging around at jumpinpin for the last week or so. I went down yesterday arvo with a few mates and we spun up a few for a feed and also threw some in on a live bait rig.

Well we got smashed on the first bait and busted 60Lb leader at the top snell hook. The next rig was increased to 100Lb leader and a larger live tailor. It got hit like a freight train with massive head shakes and after nearly spoiling my reel we were busted off again this time on the 40Lb braid.

There are some big fish down there and I will be returning with heavier gear.

Curious what set ups everyone uses for live baiting off the beach ??
