    Got one from years ago.

    Yes they work.

Run mine off 600w inverter from Aldi as well.

    Grab any extra rolls?

Main thing is to ensure where going do finishing seal is dry and free of fish or meat juices otherwise the seal will let go after awhile.

Dont be tight. Make your bags or tubes longer rather than shorter.
I will cut to length a few tubes and then go through and seal one end first so element stays hot rather the elements heating and cooling continually draining my battery

The internals of a Russell Hobbs sealer runs on 12v dc from output side of internal power supply. Big chance other brands are the same. If you're a bit techy, add a 10amp dc connector to output side and it will run happily on both 240ac & 12v dc.

Avoids inverters and extra cost for 'dual voltage' sealers.
