Bribie sandies
« on: Mon 25 Mar 14:56 2019 »
Had my first look at Bribie for the year this morning, hoping to find a few summer whiting still about. The fishing was terrible - hardly a bite all day(except for stingrays and shovelies), and I only brought home 2 fish - a 32cm whiting and a just legal bream. Fortunately I'd put in my crab pots as there is often a decent run of sandies up there in the late summer, early autumn. Ran the pots three times during the morning and got some crabs each time. Quite a few undersize bucks early but they improved through the morning and I ended up with 14 keepers by midday when I came in. Made the trip worthwhile - haven't had a crab or three for a while. Cold crab and cold beer for tea tonight - and my missus doesn't like crab.....SAD!
