The Mrs had a school reunion this morning , so I thought-  ok  why not - back to school day for both of us.
A first light this morning I hit my School Mackerel Spot - they were there and hungry from the first cast .
Fortunately I was lucky enough to  put half a dozen  in the esky before the local  shark population figured there was a free feed on offer .
Two sharked fish  in two casts, so called it for a day and headed back home early with a feed  .

If targeting school mac is first light your best bet or is that just when u like to get out to fish? Just wondering if they bite at other times during the day or afternoon?

They bite all day. On and off  , but they’ll often have a burst just on sunrise. I like getting out early to get my fish before the boating traffic  puts them off
