Still coming up empty

Sand crabs are still scarce as hens teeth up this way,I haven't boated one this season,Genny under size buck,nothing,very few pots out to for this time of year,the bait fridge is at bursting point,they better turn up shortly.

    been a pretty good season in the southern bay but they have now gone off and will be back in feb
    did 4 trips so far
    Aug 19
    sept 28
    oct 26 & 19

    8 pots overnight soak each time

    I know what you mean MQ. I'm just wasting bait. Even the muddies have been almost impossible to find and like you said not even many non keepers in the pots. Not sure why but its a bit of a worry.

    Todays Bribie Islander paper tells me the Sandies are coming on nicely,not from what i'm seeing they are not.

    Crab in gear told me very little around even for commercial guys I still ended up buying a couple of pots that was a few weeks ago maybe weather is still weird.... ;D on Rosco post went over the boarder still very little there..got to be a seasonal thing maybe something to do with drought...

    And you would believe the word of a retailer to the weekend masses?
    I've dropped pots for sandies 5 tomes so far and 2 times for muddies since Oct 12th, not one legal crab yet.

    I landed a nice buck in the cast net, at the port Monday night. Maybe a pot or two there might help. Just saying! I'm no crabber. but heres a good photo-

    I put my pots down in the Pine today for about 6 hours. Was pleasantly surprised with six quality sandies and only 1 under. Ended up with more crabs than fish. Was glad I put the pots in, as I only decided to take them at the last minute and then got 5 minutes away from home and realised I didn't have any crab bait so had to do a rapid U-turn to grab some frozen frames. All good in the end!
