Hilux heart transplant
« on: Thu 20 Sep 13:44 2018 »
Hey guys,
So I have a 22r hilux 4x4 that is my weekend taxi. Iím thinking about doing a commodore v6 conversion.
Has anyone on here done the conversion? Did you go manual or auto?
Would love a v8 but rego is a killer.

Marks adaptors use to build the kits to make it painless as possible.

Might be a wreckers with one about thats been converted to get the parts off.

Make sure get the mod plate done.
Check out whats required before sinking the $$$ in.

I looked at doing a similar thing to my old landy troopy. With a Holden 202 n supra gear box but decided to put the money into a newer beach car as no matter how much I spent it would still be a leaf sprung 70ís model that was uncomfortable for the missus n not suited to future kids.

Do a realistic budget to do the change over n see what else is out there. Plenty of 75 series utes with 1hz or 80-100 series if you want auto n wagon. Or just a newer hilux n put the leftover into your camping setup in the tray.
Looking forward to the next trip

Iíll be doing the ring around this weekend pricing things up and getting a parts list together so Iíll let you know how I go.

Many years ago did Landrover body with 186s engine into 4sp crusier box and added 5th gear and then into Landrover diffs. :o

Was real easy to fit but it did.
Kept spitting the plastic clog off bottom of the dizzy.
Apart from that no real issues and anything possible if have time and money.

Had mod plate for the bucket seats ::)
