Tiny guides
« on: Thu 23 Nov 16:17 2017 »
Tiny guides are a pain, this repair is a size 10. I've been building a lot of rods lately with single foot guides as well - they are worse.
I came up with a way to hold the guide on to bind it - it's a rubber bead I use in my tailor rig and an elastic band - pics should make it clear. I find it works better than tape or pegs for the really small guides. With single foot guides you can bind enough to hold the guide, then remove the band and bind the rest - works for me.

We used the white ties from freezer bags in the old days, used to hate binding light weight fly rods for that exact reason.
