Seperate camping 12v setup.
« on: Sun 13 May 13:54 2018 »
i was given a fairly new 90 amp hour battery when my farter in law upgraded his boat batteries to a dual setup. I wanted to have something that could be easily moved from the  campertrailer for family trips to my ute for solo beach trips. This is what I've come up with. It's a stand alone solar powered setup running through a solar control (that has 2 inbuilt usb outlets)to a few cigarette lighter 12 v sockets with a 600 watt inverter wired directly to the battery ( not through the solar control as its only rated to 10 amps). It is all seperatly fused and I will also put a safety switch on the 240 outlet of the inverter.
Looking forward to the next trip

Also it's only really going to be used for led lights and the water pump on family trips as I run gas fridges. And for my live bait tank pump on solo beach trips as again no 12 v fridge just eskys for food n drinks.
Looking forward to the next trip

Looks like will work and be safe as well.
Will you mainly use it with the lid up or is it a agm battery?
I have a computer fan on my box housing lead battery and invertor on cubby house.
I run it so it pressurize the box and pushed the gases venting off opposite side to the fan sucking in.

That way any possible corrosive gases are not sucked through invertor or 12v fan

I use an rcb in a premade power lead from Bunnings. Was about $30
