Seafood Trail S.A.
« on: Tue 6 Feb 18:10 2018 »
Wife and I are heading off in our Stoney Creek Camper to the Eyre Peninsula for their "seafood trail"
We are meeting up with friends travelling from Perth at Port Augusta and camping for around 5 weeks.
Mainly camping in caravan parks as other couple have a pop top and would struggle to free camp.
We will probably free camp in several places getting there and home.
We have done several trips up to a week trying to test our gear with 240v and 12v plus solar. We hope we are prepared.
One thing we have decided to do is leave the Baby Q at home [space] and take our Cobb Cooker along with our Dream Pot.
Hope to let you know how the cooking goes as well as the fishing.
The other need we are taking is a Cromtech generator.
I must admit that I was very surprised the other day with this generator. our job site had no power so I thought I would see if it turned my 3 cu/ft cement mixer and it did it easily, even though it struggles with the coffee machine. hahah go figure.
Hope to send some pics and reports along the way. Mate from Perth is a MAD fisherman so I guess we will be doing some fishing.
One thing that we are all looking forward to is snorkeling with seals. Will keep in touch and try not to be a stranger.
Bruce

Sounds like a great trip. Enjoy yourselves and look forward to the report at the end of the trip.

Safe travels.

Thanks Rosco, hope to get one fish off my bucket list [K.G. Whiting] although I did get one in Perth many many years ago.

Just a quick update. This is our camp site at Port Lincoln, not too shabby.
Fishing quiet at this stage with only a few herring and a dozen squid  :P
Bit colder down here and a lot windier than home.
Off to Coffin Bay Friday, looking forward to some oysters.
Roads have been reasonable some good some ordinary for highways.
Road kill is huge, started to count how many in 5 minutes but lost count.
Seen the normal animals but a big surprise was the goats throughout NSW.
Thousands, reckon they would already be a problem.
