Kayak safety and skills course
« on: Thu 19 Oct 15:52 2017 »
Just looking to see if anyone would be interested in a kayak course that runs for 5-6 hours and covers everything from paddle strokes to recovery and safety.

i did this course myself last week and found out i don't know as much as i thought i did.  Now i know how to help anyone in trouble.

the course is run by Craig who is a level 2 sea kayak instructor with 23 years experience leading kayak trips in Australia and overseas.

The course includes

support strokes/bracing
towing and rescues
recovery from capsize
tides navigation and trip planning

the courses will be run at Jacobs well and prices depend on numbers

5-9           $80 pp
10-14       $60 pp
15-19       $45 pp    course run longer

you can also hire a kayak for $30 if your just thinking about giving it a go

The course must be prepaid as the course i attended a few did not turn up resulting in a higher price for the rest

I highly recommend this course even for the fresh water guys

If enough people are interested we can set a date
it will be run in conjunction with nuggetoutdoors
