Hi Ron,

A few years ago i got pulled up in the Brisbane river by the water police in a boat i was selling and the prospective buyer was on board. The boat had the rego numbers painted on and was measured by the officer which showed the letters were under the 200 mm minimum height. From memory they were 175 mm.

They were going to have me remove the numbers and replace with the correct size but the guy buying the boat lived in NSW and said he intended to buy the boat and would need to remove the numbers to have the boat registered in NSW.

They gave me a written warning any way in case the sale never went ahead & if it remained in QLD would need to replace the rego numbers.

Cheers,

Ross

I think the gov. changed the size requirement about a year ago too.
